The passing of Pope John Paul II is a major event because we have all lost one of the most remarkable leaders of our time. I am not a papist and do not believe that any man on earth should be called “the head of the church,” which is the rightful place of Christ alone. However, I do not doubt that John Paul II was a man of God that all Christians should be thankful for and should rightly mourn.

         In 1988 Paul Cain said, “Communism is going to become commu-wasim.” This was the first prophetic indication I heard that there was about to be a collapse of the Iron Curtain and freedom from the stranglehold that Marxism had on almost half of humanity at that time. Paul also said that the remnants of Marxism would merge with radical Islam and become the most dangerous threat the world had ever known. This has now come to pass.

          Because the 2012 elections continue to be a source of confusion to many, we will address a couple of more lessons to learn from this to finish out this year. Then we will begin the New Year with possibly unprecedented opportunities to see our nation turn to the Lord for the greatest harvest in history.

In Luke 16:11, Jesus explains a basic principle that should motivate us to study good financial management: "If therefore you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous mammon, who will entrust the true riches to you?" We have also considered how important He made this in the Parable of the Talents, when He called those who managed what they were entrusted with well "Good and faithful servants" (see Matthew 25:21 NIV), and the one who did not manage what he was entrusted with well, <

          The word of knowledge that I was given, which is my personal favorite, seemed very strange to me when I received it. I actually resisted sharing it. In a meeting, we were praying for a couple and their fourteen- year-old daughter. I heard the Spirit say, “Tell the daughter that she is not an accident.” Immediately, I thought about how embarrassing this would be for the daughter and her parents, who were standing in front of the whole congregation for prayer.

     We have been using the prophecies that I made about serious earthquakes and volcanic eruptions coming upon the U.S. West Coast to discuss how we handle such revelations, and how we can expect them to be taken or interpreted by those who hear them. 

When Joshua was leading Israel across the Jordon River to possess their Promised Land, an angel appeared to him. Joshua asked the angel if he were for them (Israel) or for their enemies, and he replied, “Neither, but I have come as the captain of the hosts of the Lord” (see Joshua 5:14). This may seem confusing since Israel was God’s people, and they were being led by God to possess the land He had promised them. Why would His captain not be on their side? Because the Lord is not coming to take sides—He’s coming to take over.

Newsweek Magazine recently boasted that Christianity in America was dead. This slap in the face to the church in America only served to wake her up. Many took the comment and held it up before the Lord as Hezekiah did with the boasts of the Assyrian general against the Lord. It is most encouraging to see so many Christians responding to the continuous assault from those who hate or reject God. Many Christians are arising to proclaim that this is not a post-Christian America, but a pre-Christian America, because we are going to have a revival in America that eclipses all others.

The church will begin to take on more of a military mentality in the coming times. We are called to be an army, and in many ways we will start to reflect this in a much more serious and focused demeanor in the leadership and the people. There is something about conflict that does focus our senses. We have been in a war against darkness of the most desperate kind for the whole history of the church, but not all seem to understand this or live as they would if they did understand it. This, too, will be changing as more of God’s people come to this understanding.
