The Teacher

The teacher is the last of the five equipping ministries listed in Ephesians 4:11, but it is foundational for all of the other ministries. To equip others will require teaching as well as training and impartation. However, the teaching ministry is one that focuses on imparting the knowledge of God’s ways, especially as revealed through the Scriptures, by the Spirit.

The Application of a Prophetic Word, Part 2 - Prophetic Communication

     I have not ceased to be amazed at how I can share something in a service and immediately afterward people will come to me and have heard something entirely different from what I said. Often it is the very opposite of what I said. Long ago, I became convinced that it is not possible to say anything without it being misunderstood by some. I have concluded that this cannot be helped, and if you worry too much about it, you would not say anything. Even so, it is right to develop ours skills of communication to eliminate as much of this as possible. 

Day 112 - The Power of Resurrection Life

The cross and resurrection are foundational doctrines of Christianity. They are intertwined and cannot be separated from one another. We cannot experience resurrection without first dying. The degree to which we lay down our lives for the Lord and His purposes, while embracing His cross, is the same degree that we will experience His resurrection life, perceiving and partaking of the glory that He now abides in.
 
Jesus did not stop at the cross, and it is imperative that we not stop at the cross.

The New Breed

One of the most tragic statements in the Bible is Philippians 2:19-21:

But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition.

For I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare.  For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.

Labor or Steal

Our text for this week is Ephesians 4:28:


Let him who steals steal no longer; but rather let him labor, performing with his own hands what is good, in order that he may have something to share with him who has need.

Discerning the Times, Part 61

In order to have a true prophetic perspective on the world that enables us to discern the times accurately, it must begin with a basic Christian worldview—to see the world as Christ does. To have His perspective, we must see from His perspective, which is from above. This is why we are told that we are to be seated with Him in the heavenly places in Ephesians 2:4-6:

Discerning the Times, Part 14

The year 2009 will bring extraordinary growth in faith and peace for those who serve the Lord. One major reason for this is because it will also be a year of extraordinary unity. There will be a coming together in the body of Christ this year in ways that we have probably not seen in our lifetime. The result is going to be a release of even more power and light, which will result in ever-increasing faith and peace with His people. 

War in Heaven

This week we will begin a study of the “man of sin,” or the “antichrist,” which is prophesied to come and dominate the world for a time. The “man of sin” is the personification of the sin of man in its deepest depravity, and its greatest power of corruption. We are told about this in Scripture so we can be prepared for it, and which is why we are doing this study.
